Student Portfolios are a place where student work is archived for years to come. The purpose of this is to culminate multi-generational art-making and continuously celebrate the CAL Academy artist lifeline.
Visual Arts I
Students will be introduced to the elements of arts like shape, space and value. Visual Arts focuses on understanding colors, shading, and the inclusion of two and three dimensional works.
Visual Arts II
Students will utilize their knowledge from Visual Arts I to produce artwork using the elements of art with an emphasis on the principles of design. There will be a use of both known and unknown materials to create 2D and 3D artwork that has a focus on both technical skills and identity.
Mural Arts
In Mural Design class, students get to explore their identities, cultures and values in order to create artwork that communicates important themes. Our murals are made through a collaborative and democratic process where students contribute their ideas, give each other feedback and vote to uplift the strongest designs. Students have the opportunity to explore their passions in smaller artworks as well as work as a collective on large scale murals in the school.
