Dear CAT Families,

We are sharing information about new legislation passed to assist students who had challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On July 1, Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law State Assembly Bill (AB) 104, which provides students and parents/guardians options to address learning recovery needs. The new law’s focus is on student retention (repeating a grade level) and student grades. Below is a brief summary about the bill. For more information, you can view and download this PDF, which also has links to the forms parents can fill out to (1) request information and a consultation for retention decisions for their student and/or (2) request letter grade changes. There are deadlines to submit these requests so please download the document and review carefully.
