Good evening CAT students and families. This is Ms. Winn delivering your weekly Principal’s message. Wednesday, September 19th marks the first official day of Workplace Learning Experience for all CAT Seniors. On Thursday, September 20th, students who are interested in taking on a leadership role at CAT will be invited to attend an informational meeting at lunch in the Auditorium. At this meeting, students will learn about CAT’s new Leadership Council which meets once a month on Monday evenings. The 2nd Leadership Council meeting of the school year is coming up on Monday, September 24th. Information about the Leadership Council was mailed home last week. Please check your mail for flyers with all the Leadership Council meeting dates and participation requirements.

Thursday, September 20th is Back-To-School Night at CAT from 5:30-7:30 pm. Dinner is from 5:30-6:00 and the Welcome presentation begins at 6 o’clock sharp in the Cafeteria. Families in attendance will have the opportunity to meet their students’ teachers, Advisors, and CAT Support Staff members. Please arrive between 5:30-6:00 to meet and eat with other CAT families. If you are interested in buying CAT gear, or contributing to your student’s Grade Level Picnic Fund, please bring cash or checks made out to City Arts and Tech High School. Also, keep an eye out for a Back-To-School Night flyer in the mail this week. If you have questions about the event, please contact the Main Office. We hope to see you there!

Looking ahead to the week of September 24th, all CAT Juniors will be taking a practice SAT exam on Wednesday, September 26th in lieu of classes. On Friday, September 28th, all students will be attending Grade Level Picnics at local parks in San Francisco. Students will report to CAT at 8:30 am and leave by 9 am to head to various parks around the city. Again, if you’d like to donate money for this event, you will have the chance to do so at Back-To-School Night this Thursday. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.

Buenas noches estudiantes y familias de CAT. Esta es la Sra. Winn entregando su mensaje semanal de la directora. El miércoles 19 de septiembre es el primer día oficial de Experiencia de aprendizaje en el lugar de trabajo para todas los estudiantes del 12 grado. El jueves, 20 de septiembre, los estudiantes que estén interesados ​​en asumir un rol de liderazgo en CAT serán invitados a asistir a una reunión informativa durante el almuerzo en el Auditorio.
