About Envision Education
Envision Education was founded on a simple idea: the achievement gap reflects a systemic failure to understand how youth learn, what motivates them to learn, and what they need in order to learn well. At Envision, we are creating an inspiring educational experience that is as meaningful for teachers as it is for students by redefining what it means for students everywhere to be ready for college and life.
In our three bay area Envision Schools: CAT in San Francisco, Envision Academy in Oakland and Impact Academy in Hayward, Envision Education employs the best practices of high school design along with an innovative model that emphasizes:
- A rigorous performance assessment system
- Real-world experience in workplaces
- Development of 21st Century Leadership Skills
- Project-based learning
- Integration of arts and technology into core subjects
Our students and staff tell us the Envision model is working. National statistics confirm this: In 2012, more than 80% of Envision’s graduates enrolled in college (compared with 60% nationwide) –– furthermore, nearly all, at 90%, stay in college beyond the first year (compared with the national average of 55%).
Building on the success of our schools, Envision Education created a consultancy division in 2011 called Envision Learning Partners to transform the educational experience for students across the country using the Envision Schools model. Envision Learning Partners works with progressive teachers and leaders throughout the United States to create vibrant schools and engage students deeply in their own learning.
